How does a Global Transfer work?
Global Transfers, powered by MoneyGram®, allows you to send money to another person in over 170 countries and territories directly from the One app.
How do I set up a Global transfer?
To set up a Global Transfer from your One Cash account:
- Open Cash Control in the One app
- Choose Global Transfer
- Select a destination country, amount, and delivery method
- Enter the recipient’s information
- Name
- Bank/Wallet info (if applicable)
- Review the transfer; once the details are confirmed, select Done

Please note that fees, exchange rates, and available delivery methods will vary based on the country you are sending funds to and receive the currency used.
What delivery options are available?
The method of delivery depends on the country and currency you select. Possible delivery transfer methods include a Bank Deposit, Cash Pickup, Mobile Wallet transfer, Send to debit card, and in some cases, home delivery.
What recipient information do I need to send a Global transfer?
You must enter the full legal name of the recipient exactly as it appears on their ID. You may be asked to enter banking or wallet account numbers, phone numbers, addresses, or Tax ID for certain types of transfers.
How does my recipient get their money?
The delivery method of the transfer determines how the recipient will get the money. For a direct bank transfer, the money will be deposited directly into the recipient's bank account. For a cash pickup, the recipient must visit a MoneyGram® location and provide the transaction’s reference number.
How much does it cost?
Transfer fees will vary based on the country you are sending funds to and the delivery method. Fees will be immediately visible in the One app when setting up a Global Transfer transaction. Some US states also charge taxes to the sender for international remittances.
What is the exchange rate offered?
Exchange rates may vary based on the currencies involved and the delivery method selected. Customers can check the current exchange rate in the One app before completing the transfer.
How much can I send?
Customers with One Cash+ benefits are able to send up to $2,000 daily or $6,000 per month. All other customers can send up to $1,000 daily or $3,000 per month.
Can I send funds to non-One customers?
You can transfer money to individuals that do not have an account with One.
When will the recipient get the funds?
Delivery of funds will vary depending on the country and delivery method you select. Cash pickup transactions will typically be available for pickup within 10 minutes after sending. You can check the availability date on your receipt in the One app. You can also share relevant information, such as the reference number, with the recipient directly from the One app.
How do I track the status of a transfer?
You can track the status of your Global Transfer by selecting the Global Transfer from your Debit activity in the One app.
How do I cancel my Global Transfer?
Cash pickup transactions can be canceled up until the recipient picks up the funds. Non-cash transactions can be canceled until the funds have begun the process of transmitting to the receiving bank or wallet. This timing will vary by destination. To cancel a transfer:
- Open the One app and tap One Cash
- Tap Debit and select the transaction
- Select Cancel Transfer
Can I send funds to someone in the United States?
Global Transfer does allow you to send funds within the United States. Transfer fees will still apply. If you would like to transfer money domestically for free, we recommend you use One to One or Mail a Check.
The recipient says they haven’t received the funds, what do I do?
Delivery of funds varies depending on the delivery method. If it has passed the estimated time, you may contact MoneyGram® for additional support.
Can I receive funds from another country?
Global transfers, powered by MoneyGram®, are designed to send funds to supported countries. If you need to receive funds from another country, they will need to be sent via international wire.
When sending a Global Transfer for Cash Pickup, does the receiver’s name have to match their government-issued ID exactly?
The receiver’s name on the Global Transfer must match their government-issued ID exactly. If the recipient has an issue receiving their funds, please contact MoneyGram®.
When sending a Global Transfer for Cash Pickup, can someone else pick up the Global Transfer?
Transfers will not be paid out to anyone other than the recipient listed in the transfer details. If you would like to initiate the transfer to someone else, you can attempt to cancel the transaction and create a new one with the correct recipient information.
I sent someone funds and they are having issues receiving it, what do we do?
If the recipient is having trouble accessing their funds, they should contact MoneyGram® for further assistance.
