How does a Global Transfer work?
Global Transfers, powered by MoneyGram®, allows you to seamlessly send money to friends and family in over 140 countries and territories directly from the One app. It’s simple to use, with competitive foreign exchange rates and fees. To initiate transfers, simply choose the amount, who is receiving the funds, and the delivery method.
How do I set up a Global transfer?
To set up a Global Transfer from your One Cash account, please follow the following steps:
- Open the One App
- Open Cash Control
- Choose Global Transfer
- The first time you make a Global Transfer, select Start a Transfer
- Select a destination country
- Set the following details for the Global Transfer
- Amount you are sending/amount they are receiving
- Delivery method
- Select Continue
- Enter the recipient’s information
- Name
- Bank/Wallet info (if applicable)
- Review the transfer, once the details are confirmed, select Done
Please note that fees, exchange rates, and available delivery methods will vary based on the country you are sending funds to and receive the currency used.
What delivery options are available?
Depending on the country and currency you are sending funds to, you may choose from several available transfer methods such as a Bank Deposit, Cash Pickup, Mobile Wallet transfer, and in some cases, a home delivery. The method of delivery is dependent on the country and currency selected when submitting the transfer through your One app.
What recipient information do I need to send a Global transfer?
For all Global Transfers, you will be required to enter the full legal name of the recipient. Please be sure to enter the recipient’s name exactly as it appears on their ID.
Depending on the country and delivery method of the transfer, you may be asked to enter additional information about the recipient. Examples of this include banking or wallet account numbers, phone numbers, addresses, or Tax ID numbers.
How does my recipient get their money?
The delivery method of the transfer dictates how the recipient will get the money. For a cash pickup transaction, the recipient will visit a MoneyGram® location and provide the transaction’s reference number, which you can easily share with them directly from the One app. After having their government ID verified, they will receive their cash. Bank and wallet transfers will be delivered directly to the recipient’s account.
How much does it cost?
Transfer fees will vary based on the country you are sending funds to and the delivery method. Fees will be immediately visible in the One app when setting up a Global Transfer transaction.
Some US states also charge taxes to the sender for international remittances. If you live in one of those states, taxes will be added to the cost of your transfer. Any applicable taxes will be displayed in the One app.
What is the exchange rate offered?
Exchange rates get updated regularly and vary based on the destination country. In some cases, exchange rates will even differ based on your delivery method within a country. To see the exchange rate for your transfer, you may start a Global Transfer from the Cash Control Menu. After entering a country and amount, the exchange rate for the selected delivery method will be displayed. These exchange rates are set and managed by MoneyGram®.

Can I send funds to non-One customers?
Global Transfer recipients do not need to be One customers. Global Transfer recipients also do not need to be permanent residents of the destination country to receive a transfer, so if you or a friend or family member is traveling to a supported country, they can still receive a Global Transfer.
When will the recipient get the funds?
Delivery of funds will vary depending on the country and delivery method selected. Cash pickup transactions will typically be available for pickup within 10 minutes after a Global Transfer is sent. Upon completing a Global Transfer transaction, an availability date will be displayed on your receipt in the One app.
How do I track the status of a transfer?
You can track the status of your Global Transfer by selecting the Global Transfer from your Debit activity in the One app.
How do I cancel my Global Transfer?
Global Transfer transactions can be canceled from the One app by selecting the transaction from your Checking activity and then selecting Cancel transfer.
All cash pickup transactions can be canceled from the moment they are sent until the moment the recipient picks up the funds. All other transactions can be canceled as long as the option to cancel still exists in the app., The duration of the ability to cancel may depend on the country and delivery method used.
If you cancel a Global Transfer transaction, the full value of your transfer, including any fees or taxes, will be refunded to your One Debit balance. You may also contact us for assistance. If you do not have the option in-app to cancel, you may contact MoneyGram® to determine whether it can be canceled and for additional assistance.
Can I send funds to someone in the United States?
Global Transfer does allow you to send funds domestically within the United States. Transfer fees will still apply. However, One has multiple free options to transfer money domestically as well — we recommend you utilize One to One or Mail a Check instead.
The recipient says they haven’t received the funds, what do I do?
Delivery of funds varies depending on the delivery method. If it has passed the estimated time, you may contact MoneyGram® for additional support.
Can I receive funds from another country?
Global transfers, powered by MoneyGram®, are designed to send funds to supported countries. If you need to receive funds from another country, they will need to be sent via international wire.
When sending a Global Transfer for Cash Pickup, does the receiver’s name have to match their government-issued ID exactly?
For security purposes, many locations will not pay out a transfer if the name on the receiver's identification does not match exactly. Please confirm your receiver’s name as it appears on their ID. If your receiver is still having this problem, please contact MoneyGram®.
When sending a Global Transfer for Cash Pickup, can someone else pick up the Global Transfer?
No, transfers will not be paid out to anyone other than the recipient listed in the transfer details. If you would like to initiate the transfer to someone else, you can attempt to cancel the transaction and create a new one with the correct recipient information.
I sent someone funds and they are having issues receiving it, what do we do?
If the recipient is having trouble accessing their funds, they may contact MoneyGram® for further assistance.
