How do I sign up for Credit Builder?
Credit Builder is available to One Cash customers who receive $500+ in monthly eligible direct deposits. If you already have a One Checking account and are receiving Plus benefits, open the One app and navigate to the Home tab. In the “Discover More” section, select the Credit Builder banner and start the application.
If you do not have a One Cash account, download the One app and select Join One. From there, you will be able to sign up for Credit Builder once you receive $500+ in monthly eligible direct deposits. For more information on One Cash accounts, see About One.
What is the minimum income required to sign up for Credit Builder?
There’s no minimum income requirement; however, you will need to receive at least $500+ in monthly eligible direct deposits in order to sign up for Credit Builder.
Will there be a hard inquiry to my credit if I sign up?
There is no hard inquiry when you apply for and open a Credit Builder loan, but you may see a soft inquiry on your credit history. Soft inquiries will not have a negative effect on your credit score.
Will I be denied if I have bad or no credit?
We won’t deny anyone based on a low credit score or prior credit history. Previous account history at One may impact your eligibility for Credit Builder and restrictions placed on your credit report (like a credit freeze) may impact availability.
Why was I denied Credit Builder?
You’ll receive an email which will explain the reason(s) for our decision. If you haven’t received this message please contact us and we’ll resend it to you.
What eligibility requirements do I have to meet to apply for credit builder?
You must have Plus status, be 18 years of age (21 if living in Mississippi), and live outside of Massachusetts.
If I am denied, how long do I need to wait before I can sign up again?
You can reapply at any time as long as you remain as a Plus customer.
What if my credit is frozen or locked?
To unfreeze your credit report temporarily or permanently, you'll need to contact the credit bureaus since the action must be taken by the bureaus directly. Some bureaus can lift the freeze in a few hours, while others might take 1-2 days.
