How do I link an external account?
We use Plaid to connect your external bank to your ONE account to securely and easily transfer funds at your convenience.
Adding a bank of the ONE app:
- Open the ONE app or visit one.app
- Tap
to access your Profile
- Select Linked Accounts
- Select Add an account
- You should see a popup: ONE uses Plaid to link your bank
- Select: Get started
- Use the search field to find your external bank and enter your login credentials for your external account to finish the process
After connecting your bank account, you can transfer funds into your ONE account. Transfers may take up to 5 business days to become available in your ONE account.
What kind of accounts can I link to?
You can link to any personal checking or savings account as long as you are listed as an account owner. If we cannot verify your ownership of the external account, we may require additional documentation to move forward with the linking process.
Is there another way to link an account?
If you don’t see your financial institution listed within ONE via Plaid, scroll down and tap on Link with account numbers.
Here, you will enter the account and routing numbers of your external bank. ONE will make two micro-deposits of less than $1 each into your external account in 1-2 business days to verify that you have access to the account. Additional action is needed to complete the account linking process once the micro-deposits have been received.
Once you see the two micro-deposits in your external account, log into ONE and follow these steps:
- Tap
- Select Linked Accounts
- You should see your external bank listed as pending
- Select Verify
- Enter the amount of the micro-deposits
- If entered correctly, your account will be linked
In some cases, you may need to submit documentation, such as a recent account statement, to help verify the ownership of that external account.
After connecting your bank account, you can transfer funds into your ONE account. Transfers may take up to 5 business days to become available in your ONE account.
Can I link my ONE account to an external bank?
Yes, if your external bank uses Plaid to link external accounts, you can link any ONE pocket to an external account. Starting the flow will change from bank to bank, but once you have started to link through Plaid, follow the steps below:
- Search for and select ONE in the list of banks in the Plaid window
- Enter either the phone number or email address associated with your ONE account
- Input the one-time use 6-digit verification code sent by text message or email
- Enter your account passcode
- A screen will appear to select the pocket(s) you want to connect
- After choosing the pocket(s) you want to link, select Continue
The pocket(s) you selected should now be added to your external account to transfer funds.
